Using VisNetic Mail Server as a Gateway Mail Server

Using VisNetic Mail Server as a gateway/relay server allows organizations to offload antivirus and anti-spam functions and provide robust pre-processing of email, at a cost typically far less than products developed specifically for Microsoft Exchange and other enterprise mail servers.

Used as a gateway, VisNetic Mail Server also serves to improve upon SMTP handling that is generally weak in enterprise mail servers. Many, like MS Exchange, feature SMTP connectors. These SMTP engines are not nearly as robust as the SMTP Engine included in VisNetic Mail Server.

Furthermore, in the case of MS Exchange, deploying add-on anti-virus and anti-spam tools further weakens an already modest SMTP server, and places more load on the Exchange server.

For added benefit, using Deerfield.com's mail server as a gateway allows you take advantage of other VisNetic Mail Server features that would not be included in an MS Exchange specific product. VisNetic Mail Server's Instant Messaging is one example.
