Setup Settings

The SEIKOSHA OP-108 printer has a small bank of Dip Switches to set up the Serial Interface & the US or European default function. These are located on the PCB does not have any Dip Switches. You can verify or change various printer settings by using the switches and LED display on the control panel. Please refer to the printer manual for details of how to set these printers up.

* If Dip Switch 5 is set ON when using the RS-232C Interface, Pin 25 of the connector will be set to +5V. If Dip Switch 5 is set OFF, Pin 25 is Not Used.

Operation Panel

To print current settings.Turn the Power Switch ON then take Printer OFFLINE by pressing the ONLINE key. Hold down the PRINT FONT/TEST key until the LCD displays "STATUS PRINT".

The Operation panel consists of eight keys four LED indicators and an LCD display.

To Change the Function & Menu

The various settings of functions are arranged in up to seven directories. Take the printer OFFLINE, press the function key and the display flashes with the directory name. To change directory press either the UP or DOWN keys to toggle through the six or seven directories. Once you have found your directory press the SET key to enter the directory. The LCD flashes with the name of the function and the current setting. To move to a different function use the UP or DOWN keys. To change the setting on the display press the SET key again, and the Function setting flashes, then use the UP or DOWN keys. Having changed the setting press the SET key to store in memory.

To exit the Set Up mode and save your settings, press the ONLINE key. To exit without saving press the CONTINUE/RESET key.

Print Directory

PAPER / SET Select the paper size in cassette feed mode.
COPIES Selects the number of copies to be made.
MANUAL FEED Selects the manual feed mode from the multiuse cassette tray
THICK PAPER Selects between normal and thick paper modes
AUTO CONT Selects the conditions for clearing errors
TRAY Designates from where paper is supplied
2nd SIZE Select a paper size for the 2nd-bin feeder.
EMULATION Selects the Emulation mode.
STATUS PRINT Selects whether the printers status will be printed out whenever power is turned on
POWER ON Selects the printers status when power is turned on
DATA BUFFER Selects memory data buffer size
OVER LOAD Selects the overload RAM buffer size
TIME OUT Selects the action the printer will take when data is left in the printer
TIMER Selects time out printing start time
INDICATE The language in which messages on the LCD are given can be selected.
PAGE PROTECT Selects the page protection mode
EET selects the EET mode
