Setup Settings

The SEIKOSHA OP-1200 printer does not have any Dip Switches. You can verify or change various printer settings by using the switches and LED display on the control panel. Please refer to the printer manual for details of how to set these printers up.

Operation Panel To print current settings.Turn the Power Switch ON then take Printer OFFLINE by pressing the ONLINE key. Hold down the PRINT FONT/TEST key until the LCD displays "STATUS PRINT".

The Operation panel consists of eight keys four LED indicators and an LCD display.

To Change the Function & Menu The various settings of functions are arranged in up to seven directories. Take the printer OFFLINE, press the function key and the display flashes with the directory name. To change directory press either the UP or DOWN keys to toggle through the six or seven directories. Once you have found your directory press the SET key to enter the directory. The LCD flashes with the name of the function and the current setting. To move to a different function use the UP or DOWN keys. To change the setting on the display press the SET key again, and the Function setting flashes, then use the UP or DOWN keys. Having changed the setting press the SET key to store in memory.

To exit the Set Up mode and save your settings, press the ONLINE key. To exit without saving press the CONTINUE/RESET key.

Print Directory

Function Function Description
PAPER / (Envelope) Selects the size of the paper in the printer.
COPIES Selects the number of copies
ORIENT Selects the Orientation (Portrait or Landscape)
FORM Selects the number of lines printed on a page
MANUAL FEED Selects the manual feed mode from the multiuse cassette tray
EET Selects the EET mode. The dot size becomes smaller in the order of DARK, MEDIUM and LIGHT.

PCL Directory

FONT SOUCE Selects the default font source. I=Internal C=Cartridge S=Downloaded
FONT NUMBER Selects the default font
PITCH Select the Character pitch (only available if font selected is scaleable with fixed pitch) Incremental unit is 0.01 cpi
PT.SIZE Selects the point size (only available if font is scaleable) Incremental unit is 0.25 point
SYMBOL Selects symbol set of font

PDL Directory Only available if Optional PDL SIMM is fitted

Function Function Description
JAMRECOVER Selects the jam recovery mode. ON=the jammed page may be reprinted
PRT PS ERROR Selects whether the printer prints the error of PDL interpreter or not.

Job Directory

PAGEPROTECT Selects the page protection mode.
RESOLUTION Selects the resolution for printing
EMULATION Selects the emulation
TIME OUT Selects the time (in seconds) that the printer waits for the next data via the current interface, when th I/F is set to AUTO

MC TRAY Selects the use of the multiuse cassette tray
LOCK Selects the paper trays and combination of the trays to be locked
CLR WARN Selects how to clear a warning message displayed on the LCD
AUTO CONT Selects the conditions for clearing errors.
DENSITY Selects the print density
TONER ERROR Selects whether the printer displays the warning message on the LCD or not when the toner becomes low
P.SIZE ERR Selects whether the printer displays the message "PAPER SIZE ERROR" on the LCD or not when this error occurs
THICK PAPER Selects the thick paper mode
TONER SAVE Selects the amount of toner to be used
SLEEP MODE Selects the Sleep Mode
SLEEP TIMER Selects the time to enter the sleep mode
I/F Selects the type of interface between the printer and host computer
DATA BUFFER Selects the data buffer size
OVER LOAD Selects the percentage of RAM to be used as overload buffer
INDICATE Selects the language on the LCD
