This switch is designed to meet our customers’ exact requirements. TopSwitch will fulfill the needs of medium-size organizations, taking into account growth due to the use of faster computers and high bandwidth-demanding applications. The TopSwitch provides high bandwidth at low cost, supporting long distances as well as high speed signals. The TopSwitch switch family utilizes highly-evolved switch technologies, such as high-density fiber and copper ports, non-blocking at “full wire” speed transmission, and many advanced management features.
The switches contain 24 Ethernet copper or fiber ports and one Fast Ethernet 10/100BaseTX port for connecting to the corporate backbone. An additional uplink slot is available for a large variety of available modules. The fiber ports use the latest VolitionTM technology from 3M which allows real Fiber-To-The-Desk implementations today. VolitionTM provides the first optic network that effectively competes with a copper-cabled network.
