A highly versatile product, the NovaMux is a combination of star and multiplexer, packaged in a compact 19”, EIA / ISO, rack mounted, 1U’ chassis. A single BATM NovaMux does the same amount of work that would normally require 9 chassis: 1multiplexer and 8 stars. NovaMux provides 16 or 32 AS/400 single/multi session terminal ports. Its unique LSI-based design assures superior and unmatched communications and system response time. NovaMux combines innovative packaging and superior level of functionality, providing the most cost-effective solution available today. NovaMux models support both 1Mbps and 2Mbps (Express) modes.

NovaMux models support both the 1Mbps and 2Mbps (Express) mode "Cascade and Drop" feature. When a NovaMux is used in a remote multi-site, this type of cascade configuration allows multiple terminal drops at many remote sites, for distances of up to 4.5 km (14,800 feet)
Programmable connectivity allows assignment in increments of 4-port multi-session terminal groups to different lines of the AS/400 8-port terminal controller. This effectively results in the creation of up to 8 independent,
4-port stars on a single NovaMux chassis
Fiber optic and copper mux lines simultaneously support redundant mux links. Coupled with the ability to cascade, NovaMux yields very high reliability, flexible installations, and connectivity over long distances
The IBM DB25/9 connection port enables a single direct connection to the AS/400 controller
Full repeating function per line (transmit/receive) provides complete signal reconstruction and total jitter elimination
Extensive diagnostics provide distinctive indicators for each system and port connection
NovaMux combines the function of a MUX and DEMUX within the same product, to reduce inventory and support expenses. The combined functionality also adds flexibility, giving added meaning to "Plug-and-Play"
